The librarian is available to assist users identify, evaluate and retrieve resources from print and online collections and through inter-library loan services. In addition, discovery services, current awareness services and updated subject guides will be available on the library website.
Students and faculty are introduced to the Library’s services through orientation sessions and supporting print and digital guides. A curriculum-integrated library research skills' program supports our Master’s students’ course work and the thesis research process. Research consultations and bibliographic referencing support is offered to all library users.
The library provides one quiet study room that can be utilized on first come first served. For special occasion user can book the room ahead of time by emailing tii.library@hbku.edu.qa
The library also provides 6 computer work stations that connect to the internet and the printer in the library.
The library has one printing and photocopying machine. Users needs to have their HBKU ID and login to access the computers and printer. The printer also provides scanning and photocopying services.
Students and Faculty are welcome to make an appointment for consultation and specific reference service with a librarian.
This service is intended for students who want help with their research (refining research question, developing effective search strategies, identifying relevant sources), and with organization and management of citation using software such as Zotero.
Faculty members are welcome to book time with a librarian to discuss an information literacy sessions, to receive an overview of resources in a particular subject area and within the library, to be introduced to new databases and to get assistance with their research project.
